- Physiotherapy assessment of mobility and balance to the patients with sarcopenia and frailty.
- Physiotherapy exercise program for prevention and rehabilitation of elderly with sarcopenia and frailty who face cardio and respiratory problems.
Sarcopenia is registered as a disease code (ICD-10) in the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases and has been reported to be associated with cardiovascular and respiratory diseases and subsequent progression to a state requiring long-term care and death. Frailty is diagnosed using various assessment scales and can significantly impact prognosis in various disease areas. This session aims to present case studies illustrating physical therapy approaches for sarcopenia and frailty in the respiratory and cardiovascular disease domains. As a result, we aim to serve as guidance amidst global aging trends.
Session delivered by: International Confederation of Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapists, International Association of Physiotherapists working with Older People
