Hatsudai Rehabilitation Hospital is a specialised rehabilitation hospital with 179 beds. In addition to inpatient rehabilitation services, the hospital focuses on post-discharge support, such as outpatient rehabilitation and home visit rehabilitation, providing seamless rehabilitation services from the sub-acute to ongoing support for chronic conditions.
The ward is staffed with many rehabilitation professionals (total ward staff: 74 PT/46 OT/24 ST) and features a team approach with a doctor as the leader, nurse, care staff, rehabilitation staff, social workers, and dietitians dedicated to the ward. Staff on the ward have introduced orthotic services and the latest rehabilitation equipment and is actively implementing exercise therapy.
Visitors on this clinical visit will have an opportunity to see the approach taken to support the return of people to their homes in a geriatric rehabilitation system that is unique in Japan.
