International visitors from countries/territories not listed in the Exemption of Visa (Short-Term Stay) issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will require a visa to enter Japan. Please check and apply for your visa in advance, because the time needed for the visa application process varies depending on which country/territory you are from.
World Physiotherapy/JTB-GMT can only issue the required documents for a visa application, including a letter of invitation from World Physiotherapy, to participants who have completed their congress registration and paid the registration fee in full. Registered participants will be asked to upload their registration confirmation from World Physiotherapy during the visa application process.
World Physiotherapy have partnered with JTB-GMT to assist you with your visa application. To make use of this service please follow the steps below. Alternatively, you can make the application yourself, direct with the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General of Japan in your country/territory.
To make use of the service offered by JTB-GMT please click the ‘Visa application’ button below to complete the form and make the payment to get the necessary documents to apply for a visa to Japan at the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General of Japan in your country/territory.
You will need the following information to complete the application process:
- scanned copy of your passport ID page
- completed travel itinerary for your stay in Japan (download the itinerary template)
- copy of flight e-ticket
- copy of accommodation booking record
JTB-GMT will prepare and send you the documents below, which you will need to present at the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General of Japan in your country/territory to apply for a visa. For some countries/territories, the Embassy/Consulate General may require additional documents, including:
- letter of guarantee
- letter of invitation (template by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan)
- itinerary

- Please be advised that the visa application cannot be processed until you have completed your congress registration and paid the registration fee in full.
- To apply for a visa, you must submit a tentative travel itinerary for your stay in Japan. Participants may extend their stay before and after the congress dates for sightseeing, shopping, and visiting colleagues and friends, as long as the total length of your stay in Japan is no more than 14 days.
- World Physiotherapy/JTB-GMT does not guarantee visa approval, and all participants are responsible for complying with relevant regulations and requirements.
- World Physiotherapy is not responsible if participants are unable to obtain a visa. It is the sole responsibility of each participant to secure the necessary visa for their travel.
- JTB-GMT will charge 16,500 JPY per visa application. All costs associated with the visa application documents will be borne by the participants.
